📂 Creating Categories (Sections)

Categories (or sections) are fundamental for organizing your menu. They allow you to group your dishes logically (e.g., Starters, Main Courses, Desserts) to facilitate customer navigation.

Steps to create a category

Create Category

By clicking the "Add Section" button in the menu manager (/dashboard/menu), you will see the following form:

Required Fields

  • Section Name: The main name of the category (e.g., "Burgers"). This is the only mandatory field.

  • Branch Availability: Choose whether this category should appear in All Branches or only in a specific one.

Use "All branches" for standardized menus and select a specific branch for location-exclusive offers.

Optional Fields

  • Translated Name: If you have international customers, you can manually enter the category name translation (although AI Translation can do it for you later).

  • Description: A brief description that will appear below the category title in the menu.

* AI Write: Don't know what to write? Click the "AI Write" button (✨) to have our Artificial Intelligence write an attractive description for you.

  • Description Translation: Manual translation of the description.

  • Hide section images: If you check this box, dishes within this category will not show their images in the digital menu. This is useful for wine lists, drinks, or sections where images are not necessary.
